Mount Buffalo snow - day 6

We set out bright and early (11.55am) and headed up to Mt Buffalo to hopefully see some snow.

What an amazing day it turned out to be despite the weather being dreary and overcast but at least the rain had stopped for a while. We didn't hold out much hope as we'd been told at the visitors centre in Bright that the rain ruins the snow. As we got closer to the top, patches of snow on the roadside and in the bush started to appear.  The lookouts along the way were useless because the low cloud and fog was so thick that we couldn't see anything.
At the top it was deserted because there hadn't been enough snow to run ski-lifts and the chalet etc. It was a bit eery actually.  We only saw 3 cars all afternoon. We found a big patch of snow and started to build a snowman.  Becca wasn't impressed.  She has a cold and was sniffly and freezing so we put her back in the warm car for a sleep.  Steve pulled everything off the car that we had to make a toboggan: kids ikea chairs, a plastic fuel container and a tyre case but the best item was the sunshade cover for the windscreen.  Woohoo!  That was great fun and then it actually started to snow.  We couldn't believe our luck.
