Becca's Worker Friends

I may be showing my age here but does anyone remember Fat Cat going to bed at 7.00 during the week.  There would be a goodnight song and he would blow a kiss to all the boys and girls.  They haven't shown the 'goodnight' segment on Adelaide television in years.  Well here on the Sunshine Coast, Fat Cat is still going strong but has become a little more advanced and Becca just loves it.   Every night of the week, even on weekends, 'the workers' come on and sing a goodnight song to say goodnight to all the little kids on the coast.  As soon as the music starts, Becca stops what she's doing and smiles as Erin and I sing along to the words.  It starts out with "what a wonderful day today" and Becca sings 'day today' with her head on her shoulder all coy and cute, then Erin and I finish it......"hop into your pyjamas and brush your teeth, grab your blanket and your teddy bear, see you all tomorrow, goodnight from your worker friends, sweet dreams from your worker friends."  There are a group of people dressed as community leaders who sing the song.  There is a policeman, a fireman, a construction worker, a ballerina, a nurse and a teacher all sitting surrounded by toys.  I know your probably thinking it sounds a bit 'off' but little kids seem to love it.  Most of the siblings of Erin's classmates enjoy it too and it's a great way to get them into a routine for bedtime.  Becca loves the song but then realises what it means and then runs and hides in a corner with her bum in the air thinking no-one can see her.  It's quite funny to watch but the goodnight song is part of her bedtime routine.
